Biden Says “Armageddon” Is Closer Than Ever Before
Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, has recently made several nuclear war threats. The authoritarian ruler has put himself in a difficult situation in Ukraine, which appears to upset him. US President Joe Biden is growing increasingly worried.
Biden gave a speech at a Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee fundraiser on Thursday, October 6. (DSCC). He claimed that he knows Putin “pretty well” and that he doesn’t think his Russian counterpart is “joking” when he makes threats to use “tactical nuclear weapons, or biological, or chemical weapons,” according to ABC News. The president continued by stating that since the Cuban Missile Crisis in the 1960s, America has not “faced the specter of Armageddon.”
Biden did not disclose if he had a strategy to prevent Putin from using nuclear weapons. The US’s stance has not altered that so far. Unless the Russian president attacks a member of NATO, American troops won’t be sent into the conflict.
