Biden Tells Cancer Patients “Not To Jump!”
Beau Biden, the president’s oldest son, died of brain cancer in 2015. He has since developed a particular interest in cancer research and therapies. A recent statement made in a speech to patients and survivors, though, didn’t click well with everyone.
On 12th September, Biden gave a speech regarding the Cancer Moonshot Initiative at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston. In 2016, the year following the death of his son, the commander-in-chief served as vice president and led an initiative to pass the 21st Century Cures Act. He addressed the lawmakers, cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors who attended the ceremony, adding, “And don’t jump from up there, okay?” while pointing to a balcony.
