The Russian military has been attacking Ukraine and seizing control of cities for nearly seven months. That changed in early September, when the Ukrainian military launched a surprise strike, forcing the invaders to flee.
Ukraine has reportedly reclaimed almost 3,400 square miles in the last week. That is more than Russia has seized control of in the previous five months. On September 11, President Vladimir Putin’s invading forces confirmed that the Ukrainian troops had taken control of the whole Kharkiv region.
As a result, Russia’s troops were forced to retire fast as Ukrainian forces advanced, supported by billions of dollars in military supplies. According to rumors, Putin was inaugurating a massive Ferris wheel in a Moscow park as his military lines fell. The amusement park ride, like his armed forces, reportedly malfunctioned, leaving riders stuck in the air.
