US Senator Attacked in Broad Daylight

Politics is frequently a contentious subject that can elicit strong opinions and feelings, especially from people on opposing ends of the political spectrum. However, more people have recently turned to violence to further their causes. Such an attack recently targeted one senator.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) was struck by a beer can on November 7 when he was on a float in a victory parade honoring the Houston Astros’ World Series victory. The can hit Cruz in the vicinity of his neck and chest despite the guy in front of him attempting to divert it. Cruz’s daughters were standing close to him on the float when the incident occurred. Thankfully, nothing struck them.

Without incident, Houston Police detained the alleged thrower of the unopened cans and later identified him as 33-year-old Joseph Halm Arcidiacono.
Cruz claimed in a statement to the Daily Wire that he was “grateful that the moron who hurled his White Claw had a noodle for an arm” and appreciated the cops’ prompt action.

Arcidiacono has since been accused of severe assault by the prosecution. In exchange for a $40,000 bond, he was allowed to leave jail while he awaited his November 9 court date.
