Joe Biden Can’t Even Pack a Small College Gym, Photos Show
With midterm elections happening this week, influential figures in both major parties have been carefully selecting campaign stops to give candidates tactical boosts as voters gear up to go to the ballot boxes. However, it appears President Joe Biden’s decision to rear his head in Florida last week may have been misguided, as the Republican candidates in the state seem to have their races sewn up.
On Tuesday, November 1, Biden gave a speech at a gathering in the Sunshine State. The goal of the stop was to boost the chances of Senate candidate Val Demings (D-FL), who is attempting to unseat incumbent Senator Marco Rubio, and Charlie Crist (D-FL), who is running against the wildly popular Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL). FiveThirtyEight polling averages show that DeSantis leads Crist by 10 points, while Rubio has a 7-point advantage against Demings.
The president said in his speech that Republican leadership would jeopardize benefits programs to appeal to Florida’s elderly population.
According to video footage from the event, the president’s attendance did not draw an entire house to the location, a gym at Florida Memorial University, demonstrating that his appeal isn’t strong enough.
