Elon Musk Sends Veiled Threat to Big Tech Over App Stores
Anyone who has been paying attention over the past few years should not be shocked by the efforts made by Big Tech companies to censor information. Recall how Amazon, Apple, and Google worked together last year to temporarily deplatform the conservative social media site Parler. Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, threatened two Big Tech behemoths over their respective app stores in advance.
On November 25, the conservative podcaster and pundit Liz Wheeler tweeted that Musk should “make his smartphone” if Twitter were banned from Apple and Google’s stores. Musk promptly reacted by expressing his hope that it wouldn’t come to that but also his assurance that, if necessary, he would “create an alternate phone.”
