Trump Calls Ron DeSantis an “Average” Governor
Since Americans went to the polls for the midterm elections earlier this month, a lot has changed in Republican politics. Former President Donald Trump supported several candidates who ultimately fell short of Democrats in critical contests. While praising the victory of his main rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, many in his party criticize him (R). Trump is currently pursuing DeSantis directly.
The former president’s Save America super PAC issued a statement backing DeSantis on November 10th. He referred to the governor once more as “Ron DeSanctimonious.” He lamented that prominent conservative news agencies supported him even though he was “a mediocre… governor with superb Public Relations.”
He then expressed displeasure that DeSantis had left the possibility of running against Trump for president in 2024. The former president implied that DeSantis should have confirmed his resignation if Trump desired the Republican nomination out of “loyalty and class.”
