Biden REBELS Against Federal Court!

Biden Pushes Student Loan Buyout Despite Federal Ruling

Last week, a federal judge stopped President Joe Biden’s contentious student loan forgiveness scheme, but he isn’t giving up. His administration now intends to challenge the courts. The White House claims that an appeal has already been submitted.

On November 10, US District Judge Mark Pittman heard a complaint that the Job Creators Network Foundation had filed on behalf of two borrowers who had been refused payments on their student loans. Pittman determined that Biden’s expansive debt forgiveness scheme, which would have cost taxpayers an estimated $400 billion and written off up to $20,000 for students with federal loans, was unlawful and revoked it nationwide. A different lawsuit filed by six Republican state attorneys general had already put the program on hold, but not before 26 million applications for the debt write-off had been received.

The Justice Department has already filed an appeal, according to a statement from White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre, which stated that the administration “strongly disagree[s]” with the decision. Republicans and some Democrats continue to oppose the scheme, arguing that it will increase inflation and is unjust to those who have already paid off their student debts and low-income taxpayers who will be forced to foot the bill for others’ higher education.
